Viral load test

How do you get it?   Opportunistic infections  CD4-cells  Viral load test  HIV Medication  Adherence  Resistance

What is it?

  • This test measures the amount of HIV virus in the blood.
  • The quantity is expressed by the number of virus particles per millilitre.
  • The higher the viral load, the higher the chance of someone becoming sick.
  • With medication, the viral load is reduced, and as such, opportunistic infections can be warded off.
